I've never personally been very tied to Twitter. I mainly joined to be a part of the web community, but I really don't care where that community goes. I'm just happy to be part of it, and I think we can build something similar on Mastodon.Permalink On twitter.com

For the record, I'm not convinced Mastodon will ever go mainstream or that Twitter will die anytime soon (though the #ChiefTwit has surprised me before). I think it's more likely that the next big social media gimmick will just have an easier time taking Twitter's users.Permalink On twitter.com

Moderation *is* Twitter's key feature yet it's new owner has zero understanding of that, which I think spells long term doom. I just feel terrible for everyone who worked/works at Twitter and hope they land on their feet.Permalink On twitter.com
