    @SensiblePoliti9 I definitely don't want to invest in building and moderating my own community. I could see a server just to host my own account with my own domain (if that's the right term?), like an email address for a personal web site.

      @SensiblePoliti9 I guess the messaging feels contradictory of "you must pick a server for your account", but also "the server doesn't matter so don't worry about it". Is it weird that people naturally gravitate towards the "default" option of mastodon.social?
