@IgorMinar I'm exaggerating a bit, there are apps where run on startup is useful (messaging apps in particular). My point is that devs tend to overemphasize the importance of their own app and make it run on startup for no good reason and then bury the setting in advanced options.

@IgorMinar It's particularly annoying when it runs in the foreground on startup, and gets in the way of whatever you wanted to do because "obviously my app is the first thing anyone wants to do". I'm looking at you @Spotify.
