    1. Dear maintainers, if someone offers to contribute somehow (that you would accept), the best thing you can do is respond as quickly as you can with words of encouragement. Waiting several days or weeks will kill anyone's motivation, they've already emotionally moved on.

    Imagine starting a new job where no one responds or cares about your input. Add to that a bot which automatically tells you to go away because no one could be bothered to even do that. That's what it feels like when we ignore good-faith contributions.
