My partner and I found a new cat yesterday on our daily walks. There are lots of ferals around here, but this one was new. He was sooooo friendly but wouldn't eat any kibbles like most strays. Turns out, his owner passed away and their family didn't want to keep him. Poor Sam ended up on the street all alone. We dropped him off at a shelter in San Jose.
